What is water cremation?
Water cremation, also known as aquamation, is a gentle and environmentally responsible alternative to traditional flame cremation or pet burial.
Taking place in a clean, peaceful environment, our process uses a combination of water flow, warmth and natural alkalis to gently accelerate the natural processes that occur after burial. The result is ashes that can be returned to you and memorialised in the same meaningful ways as ashes from traditional cremation.
Water cremation has been used for decades and is widely practiced overseas. It is now established across Australia and continues to grow in popularity as more families seek a gentle alternative with a lower environmental impact and no flame or harmful emissions.

Ashes return timeframes
Please allow 10-14 working days from the time your pet comes into our care for their ashes to be returned home. Personalised memorial keepsakes may require additional production time, and we’ll keep your pet in our care until the final arrangements are complete.
Delivery and collection
Standard delivery is included in your package. We deliver Monday to Friday during business hours and will contact you to arrange a suitable time. Special delivery requests may be available for an additional $75. You can also collect from our office at Unit 11/4 Pinacle Street, Brendale.
Viewing room
Our private viewing room in Brisbane offers you and your family, including other pets, a quiet space to spend time together before the scheduled water cremation. Viewings are available by advance booking, Monday to Friday excluding public holidays, at $75 for up to one hour.

We begin by arranging collection of your pet from your home or veterinary clinic. We’ll discuss your wishes, explain the available packages and help you choose the arrangements that feel right for your family.
Your pet is cared for individually throughout the water cremation process. Once the process is complete, their ashes are prepared for return according to your chosen package. We’ll keep you informed and help you understand what to expect at each stage.
3. Will I receive only my pet's ashes?
Yes. The ashes returned to you are guaranteed to be only those of your pet. Your companion is cared for individually throughout the water cremation process.
In most cases, your pet’s microchip can also be returned to you. If this is important to you, please let our team know when making arrangements.
4. How long will it take to receive my pet's ashes?
Please allow 10-14 working days from the time your pet comes into our care for their ashes to be returned home.
We arrange deliveries Monday to Friday during business hours and will contact you beforehand to coordinate a suitable delivery window. If you have particular days or times when you’re generally available, please let us know.
Personalised memorial keepsakes may require additional production time. Special delivery requests may be available for an additional fee of $75, or you can arrange to collect your pet’s ashes from our Brendale office.
5. Where can you collect my pet from?
We arrange collection from homes and veterinary clinics throughout Greater Brisbane, including areas across North Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Logan, Ipswich and Redlands.

6. Can I say goodbye to my pet before their water cremation?
Yes. Paws to Heaven offers a private viewing room at our Brendale premises for families who would like some quiet time with their pet before the scheduled water cremation.
The room provides a peaceful, private setting where you and your family, including other pets, can spend time together without the clinical feel of a veterinary clinic.
Viewings are available by advance booking, Monday to Friday during business hours, excluding public holidays. The room fee is $75 for up to one hour.
Please note: this is a viewing-room fee; any veterinary fees, if applicable, are separate.
7. Can I choose an urn or memorial keepsake?
Yes. We offer a range of ways to honour your pet’s memory, including urns, memorial boxes, photo frames, outdoor memorials, paw casts and memorial jewellery.
Some packages include particular memorial items, while other options can be selected to suit your wishes. You can explore our urns and keepsakes section to see the available styles, or contact our team if you’d like help choosing something meaningful.
8. Can I collect my pet's ashes instead of having them delivered?
Yes. You’re welcome to arrange collection from our office at Unit 11/4 Pinacle Street, Brendale.

9. What should I do if my pet has just passed away?
We’re here to help, whatever time of day or night it is. If your pet has just passed away, take a moment if you can, and don’t feel you need to make every decision straight away.

Our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An after-hours surcharge may apply, depending on the timing and service required. We’ll explain the applicable fees before confirming arrangements.
